  • 2. Educational Requirements Must have a high school diploma, GED, CDA, Associates Degree in ECED or similar field. Must be working on a CDA with in the first year of being a lead teacher.
  • 3. Places of employment Work in a state licensed child care facility Work in child care ministry Work in a state licensed in-home facility

Job Descriptions Must be able to create and carry out a lesson plan Be able to observe childrens behaviors and developmental milestones and create developmental plans through the observations Keep records such as developmental checklists Promote literacy, read to the children and encourage reading to them Promote good health and hygiene Create a good learning environment Assist with bathroom needs Be able to communicate with children and fellow teachers Build relationships Support children’s emotional and social development Must meet state minimum training hours yearly

Job Description Ensures facility is in compliance with state rules and regulations Completes any record keeping such as children and staff files Plan and carry out trainings, staff meetings, open houses and book fairs Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff Hires new staff and make sure they meet requirements Make sure all staff are meeting their requirements Completes evaluations of all staff Ensures the facility meets all state requirements including all equipment Takes action in firing if needed Builds relationships with families Creates a monthly news letter or a form of monthly communication Manages money, accounts and supplies
