we skipped yesterday) make a web with the
words English Class in the middle and at least six
ideas from that about what English class means
to you.
• Today’s objective is to preview the text features
of the Grammar and Composition Handbook and
identify known and unknown topics.

Text Features
• In groups, complete the text features
worksheet.
• Glue into spiral, under warm up.
4. Known/Unknown
• Preview the topics and concepts that will be
presented in this book.
• On the post-its, write several that you know
and several that you do not know.
• Please your post-its on the board under the
correct heading.
5. Exit Ticket
• Write the best definition you can for the
following for terms without looking at the
book.
– Sentence
– Sentence fragment
– Subject
– Predicate
