What is Managed Services?
In the computer industry, Managed Services refers to a
vendor handling the computer maintenance, monitoring and
support for the client. This type of vendor is referred to as a
Managed Service Provider (MSP). Clients use MSPs for the
purposes of controlling costs, optimizing operations and
managing risk.

What does an MSP do?
MSPs (Managed Service Providers) use people,
computers, software and the Internet to:
•Perform all the tasks that are widely considered to be prudent computer
maintenance through either remote access or on-site visits.
•Monitor the “health” of a computer network by loading software that
constantly reports vital signs back to a main system. That system sends out
alerts when system health is in question.
•Provide computer support to users and their PCs, often remotely, for a variety
of problems.
•Provide software support for many popular software applications.
•Provide feedback to management on the overall health of the system.
•Provide proven cost-reduction strategies.
