    • Absence of discrimination,
    • as in the work place, based
    • on race, colour, age, gender, national origin, religion or
    • mental or physical disability.
  3. Explanation
    • Equal employment opportunities are the goals of an employer or business community to give all persons an equal chance to an education and employment, and to protect their civil rights regardless of their race, religious belief or gender.
    • Equal employment opportunity acts ensure that people are not unfairly excluded from activities, employment opportunities and education rights in society.
  4. How to Accomplish This.
    • Equal employment opportunity is an important aspect of a business and there are many ways to ensure that this equal workplace is achieved within employer and employee, and employees with each other.

    • The plan is:
    • To ensure that the business requires that the policies and practices relating to recruitment, employment, career development and advancement, promotion and retirement be based solely on merit, without regard to race, gender, impairment, marital status, religious/political beliefs or other non-merit related considerations.
