  3. 3. Igneous Rock <ul><li>Magma deep in Earth cools slow </li></ul><ul><ul><li>large crystals </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Lava on Earth’s surface cools fast </li></ul><ul><ul><li>small crystals </li></ul></ul>
  4. 4. Metamorphic Rock <ul><li>Formed when solid rocks are squeezed (pressure) or heated. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>New rock forms from old rock </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Foliation- parallel bands of minerals form. </li></ul></ul>
