Tradition Rockefeller Center Christmas TreeThe tradition has lasted for years. This happened during the Great Depression. Since then the Christmas tree has been decorated with all different colors. They started by first putting up a small tree then they started putting up a massive evergreen. The people did this to get some cheer over the Great Depression. The tradition soon stuck.
