Pa!s Of A Plant Project
We went on a scavenger hunt in search of the di!erent parts of a
plant. We looked for roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruit, and seeds.
Once we found them, we took pictures of them with the digital
camera. This book shows what we learned about the parts of the
plant.

Roots
Roots anchor the plant and absorb water and nutrients to feed the
plant.

Stem
Stems support the leaves and
carry nutrients to the plant.

Leaves
The leaves use sunlight and chlorophyll to convert CO2 and water to
sugar which produces energy for the plant. This process is called
photosynthesis.

Flower
The flower contains the reproductive organs of the plant. It
produces seeds.

Fruit
The fruit protects the seeds and helps with dispersal.

Seeds
The seeds produce a new plant. It also provides food for the young
plant.
