Home Time Management Step 5: Put Your Plan into Action
Step 5 is the most important one in determining whether the change you seek will be fleeting or lasting. While the first 4 steps are really important, this last one is crucial.
I can think of at least 3 things that will help you put your plan into action.
• Make a Commitment to Action Each and Every Day
• Set Up Your Life to Encourage That Action
• Keep a Memento to Keep From Backsliding
Make a Commitment to Action Each and Every Day
Nothing happens… nothing changes… without full commitment. Otherwise, it's so easy to just keep pushing things aside and figure that you'll work on it tomorrow. You'll give it your full attention tomorrow. You'll focus better after vacation.
If you've made the commitment to clean out your guestroom so that you can actually have guests in there, then work on it 15 minutes at a time. Consistency will pay off big in the end.
Set Up Your Life to Encourage That Action
Whatever you're working on set yourself up for success by making it easy to DO that one single thing.
If you're a music lover then keep a radio in the room you're working on so it will help entice you in there. Pick a time when you have the time, energy, and can play your favorite music as loud as you like. Or when your favorite talk show is on.
Keep a Memento to Keep From Backsliding
It's important to me to exercise. In the last 2 years I've put on 60 pounds because I quit walking every day. I would just get so busy working and writing and creating trainings that I didn't make time for it.
I do now.
And I keep a picture that I HATE of me when I was at my largest. It stays in my purse and when I'm scheduling my week, it ensures that I schedule in exercise.

  • Home Time Management Step 5: Put Your Plan into Action
  • Step 5 is the most important one in determining whether the change you seek will be fleeting or lasting. While the first 4 steps are really important, this last one is crucial.
  • That's because without action even the best of plans is worthless. It would be like running a 5K but right before the finish line you step off to the side and talk about finishing the race tomorrow… maybe.
  • Because of that, today I'm going to focus on how you can put your plan into action so that you will see permanent change in your home time management.I could really do that with just three little words that have made a particular shoe company (probably) billions of dollars… JUST DO IT. But, because I know you're human, I'll add in some of the "How" to go along with that slogan.
  • Right off the top of my head I can think of at least 3 things that will help you put your plan into action.***Make a Commitment to Action Each and Every Day***Set Up Your Life to Encourage That Action***Keep a Memento to Keep From BackslidingBecause these are so important to your success, let's look at each a little closer.

Otherwise, it's so easy to just keep pushing things aside and figure that you'll work on it tomorrow. You'll give it your full attention tomorrow. You'll focus better after vacation. No… action starts today and it continues every single day.
  • If you've made the commitment to clean out your guestroom so that you can actually have guests in there, then work on it 15 minutes at a time. Consistency will pay off big in the end.You won't believe how those little baby steps will really add up.
  • Set Up Your Life to Encourage That ActionI've always said you can set up your life for success or you can set it up for failure. Home time management is totally managing how you spend your time at home.
  • Whatever you're working on set yourself up for success by making it easy to DO that one single thing. If you're a music lover then keep a radio in the room you're working on so it will help entice you in there.
