    • Every day, about four children die in the U.S. because of the abuse or neglect. Most of them are babies below the age of 4.
  • Types of Child Abuse:
    • Neglect
    • Sexual Abuse
    • Emotional Abuse
    • Physical Abuse
    • Sexual Abuse is almost the most common form of Child Abuse.
    • Child Sexual Abuse has been reported up to 80,000 times a year.
    • Imagine the unreported…
    • You hate when your parents tell you what to do.
    • They have to do it if they want to stay alive…
    • 17% of the child abuse cases are emotional abuse!
    • Emotional Abuse can lead to suicide.
    • Can you imagine your parents not giving you food, clothes, hygiene, care or an education, that happens to 906,000 kids every year!
    • You could
    • DIE
    • because of this!
    • 20% percent of the kids in the United States suffer physical abuse.
    • It hurts when you fall down the stairs, but they are used to it by now, their pain is inside.
  • 25%-50% of all children will experience some form of child abuse.
  • You think someone is being abused?
    • Look for:
    • Skin Injuries (bruises, bite marks,etc)
    • The change in behavior of the child
    • Usually hungry, and dirty
    • Lack of energy
    • Usually alone at home
  • What can we do to help?
    • Donate money to child abuse prevention websites.
    • Make powerpoints like this and post them on different websites.
    • Raise awareness about child abuse
    • Be friendly in the neighborhood, maybe one of your neighbors is abused…
    • Report as soon as possible if you can. Remember you will be saving someone’s life.
    • Think about how other abused children feel. Imagine if it were you…
    • Do something to change things.
    • Get support to make changes.
    • It shouldn’t hurt to be a child.
