    4. Guest Room Environmental Stewardship One environmentally friendly cleaning agent is used for guest room • cleaning. We have a comprehensive option to all guests to re-use their sheets and • towels. This allows for a reduced footprint. Savings is reflected in energy and water usage, less chemical disposal. Allows for increased longevity in linen. The coffee for our in room coffee makers is rainforest alliance certified • coffee. Our guest room amenities are skin-friendly and entirely biodegradable; free • of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, artificial colors, petrochemical, and never tested on animals. The formula is completely biodegradable and the tube resin is highly recyclable HDPE. Dimming lights in our guest rooms will increase longevity of lamps, light • bulbs and reduces our energy costs. Consumable paper products are used in our guest rooms. They are made • up of a 20% PCW toilet tissue and 10% PCW facial tissue.

A prime I-88 location gives Hotel Arista ready access to Naperville's historic downtown, theaters, charming shops, restaurants and premium outlet mall and allows guests to travel to from O'Hare International Airport and Midway Airport in approximately 30 minutes. Downtown Chicago is just a short drive and Naperville, part of DuPage County, is home to many major national and international corporate headquarters.

Hotel Arista Quick Green Facts Carpeting is made up of recyclable material. • From opening to present we have recycled 13.96 tons of comingle items. • From opening to present we have recycled 18.72 tons of cardboard. • All paint throughout the building is latex paint. • 75% of the building receives better daylight. • Non disposable plates and cups are used throughout the hotel to conserve • our landfill waste. Water saving dual-function handle in all public areas restrooms. • Throughout the hotel there is green recycling bins for items to be • comingled. Chemical storage for all housekeeping products allow for adequate and • secure product storage. 90% of our food is ordered locally and organic items used throughout the • restaurant. In keeping with community sustainability, our hotel provided fourteen • children with holiday gifts and provided a local food pantry with a donation equivalent to $2,000.00 in food.

Waste Minimization • We have a recycling program on premises which includes our conference rooms, administrative areas, and guest rooms. • Our property makes purchases in bulk avoiding the single use type products. • Property does not purchase disposable food service items decreasing the amount of waste going to landfill.

Energy Conservation •Through out our hotel we have energy efficient equipment in the following areas: •Guest Rooms •Administrative Areas •All HVAC equipment are controlled through a central computer system to promote energy efficiency. •Indoor lighting is LED lighting, energy efficient, and have motion sensor. •Property has scheduled preventative maintenance program to optimize energy efficiency.

Fresh Water Management • Our property uses water conserving fixtures. – 2.2 gpm faucets and aerators, 1.6 gpf toilets, and 2.5 gpm showerheads • Exterior planting uses soaker hoses and plant beds are mulched to retain water. • Hotel has linen reuse program that is offered to all guests. • All clothes washers and dryers are ran at the coolest effective temperature to ensure energy efficiency.

Energy and Environmental Design A reduced environmental impact on the location of building site • Bicycle storage provided in plans for reduced pollution from auto use • Alternative transportation providing 5.3% of total parking spaces for carpool preferred parking • Interior lighting has automatic lighting controls to turn off non-essential interior lighting during • non-business hours Enhanced Refrigerant Management to reduce the amount of harmful refrigerants used in cooling • system Materials & Resources • – Contractor used waste management company that recycled all products – Building materials used were manufactured within 500 miles of the project site Indoor Environmental quality • – Additional outdoor air ventilation to improve indoor air quality performance – Low emitting materials used thus reducing the quantity of indoor air contaminants that were odorous • Adhesives & sealants • Paints & coating • Carpet systems – Provide connection between indoors and outdoors spaces through introduction of daylight and views into regularly occupied areas of the building A design team was involved during new construction to provide capability to receive extra points • and meet Green Building Rating System Requirements
