  3. 3. One way is… <ul><li>Writers vary the lengths of their sentences. Some are l o n g and some are short . </li></ul><ul><li>WHAT ELSE DO WRITERS DO??? </li></ul>
  4. 4. Another way is… <ul><li>Starting sentences with something other than the subject. </li></ul><ul><li>Prince Charming found Cinderella’s glass slipper. </li></ul><ul><li>Let’s try revising that sentence! </li></ul>
  5. 5. Start with… <ul><li>… a word or phrase that tells where </li></ul><ul><li>At the top of the staircase, Prince Charming found Cinderella’s glass slipper. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Start with… <ul><li>… a word or phrase that tells when </li></ul><ul><li>After the clock struck twelve, Prince Charming found Cinderella’s glass slipper. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Start with… <ul><li>… a word or phrase that tells how </li></ul><ul><li>With tremendous surprise, Prince Charming found Cinderella’s glass slipper. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Let’s revise together! <ul><ul><li>The clock struck midnight. Cinderella said, “I must go home!” “Come back!” said the prince. But Cinderella ran away. She lost her shoe. The prince picked it up. The coach turned back into a pumpkin. Cinderella’s pretty ball gown turned back into rags. Cinderella ran all the way home. </li></ul></ul>
