  2. 2. What is a Mammal? <ul><li>Mammals are warm blooded animals. </li></ul><ul><li>They live on land, in the air, in the water, and under the ground. </li></ul><ul><li>They have certain traits that make them what they are, mammals. </li></ul><ul><li>They have fur or hair. </li></ul>

What Do Mammals Eat? <ul><li>They eat meat, plants, fish, and insects. </li></ul><ul><li>Rodents have sharp teeth sp that they can eat strips of tree bark. </li></ul><ul><li>Strews feed day and night on worms, insects,plants, and grubs. </li></ul><ul><li>Larger animals like whales, eat tiny food like, plankton. </li></ul><ul><li>Animals like deer eat leaves, twigs, and grasses. </li></ul>

My Favorite Mammal Ringtail <ul><li>It’s 12-15 inches long </li></ul><ul><li>They live in rocky areas </li></ul><ul><li>They live mostly in the Southwest and in California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah,and Colorado. </li></ul><ul><li>In the winter they wrap their tales around themselves. In the summer they sleep on their back. </li></ul>
