  • 4. What is the restriction on presidential terms? What amendment is this? • 2 terms, 10 years. • 22nd amendment
  • 5. What is one argument IN FAVOR of the 22nd amendment? • Restriction on term limits prevents a president from becoming dictator-like.
  • 6. What is one argument AGAINST the 22nd amendment? • Restricts democracy. If the people want to elect somebody beyond two terms, they should be allowed to.

  • 12. What is the President’s Cabinet? • A group of advisors made up of the head of the 15 various branches of the federal bureaucracy.
  • 13. What limits does the war powers resolution place on the president? • Must inform Congress of any military action taken within 48 hours. • Troops must be removed after 60 days. • May be extended to 90 days or longer with Congressional approval.

  • 16. What is a pocket veto? • The President ignores a bill passed by Congress. Congress adjourns within 10 days of passing the bill. The bill is automatically vetoed.
  • 17. What is a line item veto? • The ability of the President to veto specific parts of a bill while passing others. BONUS • Can the President do this right now?
  • 18. What are the two roles of the Secret Service? • Investigate fraud involving counterfeit currency. • Protect the President and other VIPs.
