  • In this day and age, people want to have information NOW. With things like Google and interactive smart phones, people are used to a new immediacy with information. People want to be able to read what they want, when they want, without having the hassle of carrying around a bagful of books.People want to take their libraries with them on vacation, to work, and just about anywhere.
  • Enter the eBook readers. There have been many many variations of ebook readers. Here you can see just a few of the readers that have come out over the past few years.Just like when MP3 players came out a while ago, eBook readers have been struggling with Digital Rights Management (DRM) issues. Basically, the eBook creators and publishers want to make sure that people are not illegally downloading or accessing books that aren’t theirs’ or paid for.
  • Type of ebook you’ll use will depend on what device you’re using to access it. We’re going to talk about eBooks today: EPUB PDFMobipocket Reader
  • An Adobe EPUB eBook is a digital version of a print book that has been optimized for on-screen reading. The text in an EPUB eBook is reflowable, which means that you can change the font, resize the text, or alter the size of your display, and the text will rewrap itself to fit the available viewing area. Adobe EPUB eBooks also support embedded content, allowing, for instance, a Flash video to be embedded within an eBook. In order to use the DRM-protected Adobe eBooks available at this site Adobe Digital Editions must be installed and activated. Compatible devices:Adobe eBooks to a Barnes & Noble Nook, Adobe Digital Editions and the nook must be activated using the same Adobe ID.Adobe eBooks can be transferred to supported Sony Readers with v1.1 firmware installed. To transfer Adobe eBooks to the Sony Reader, Adobe Digital Editions and the Sony Reader must be activated using the same Adobe ID. Also, you must have the Sony eBook Library software installed on your computer. To download firmware upgrades click here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?PRODTYPE=74If you have activated Adobe Digital Editions anonymously, you are only able to read a downloaded Adobe eBook on a single computer. If you have activated Adobe Digital Editions using an Adobe ID, you are not able to transfer an Adobe eBook title to another computer, but you can download the Adobe eBook on another computer that is activated with the same Adobe ID.
  • EPUB Books are transferrable to: Barnes & Noble nook Mac desktop and laptop computers Windows desktop and laptop computers & netbooks Sony Reader Pocket Edition Sony Reader PRS-700 Sony Reader Touch Edition Sony Reader Daily Edition Sony Reader PRS-505 Sony Readers must also have the Sony eBook Library software installed on your computer in order to transfer eBooks.
  • This is what Adobe Digital Editions looks like with a downloaded eBook. You can always read downloaded eBooks on your computer.
