    • Born in 1743
    • 4. When he was fourteen his father died
    • 5. Jefferson attended the College of William and Mary

    • He wrote a pamphlet called “A Summary View of the Rights of British America”
    • 6. He wrote Declaration of Independence
    • 7. He composed notes called The State of Virginia
  • Significance in Enlightenment
    Thomas Jefferson played a great part in the Enlightenment Era because he believed in democracy.
    He wrote the Declaration of Independence, which is all about personal freedom, religious freedom, self government, and rational thinking.
  • 8. Most interesting fact
    He wrote letter after letter; 50,000 letters during his lifetime.
    He was such a good writer that he was one of five men chosen to write the Declaration of Independence.
