The two types of Tundra are: The Arctic Tundra and the Alpine Tundra.

The Arctic Tundra is a cold, vast, treeless area of low, swampy plains in the far north around the Arctic Ocean.

The Arctic Tundra can be found in the Northern land of Europe (Lapland and Scandinavia), Asia (Siberia) North America (Alaska and Canada) as well as most of Greenland.

The other type of tundra is Alpine tundra which is a biome that is located on high mountain tops above the tree line.

Permafrost is permanently frozen subsoil which makes it impossible for trees to grow high.

Some of the animals that live in the Arctic Tundra are caribou, wolves and snowy owls.
