    • Alpha Biography Project
    • Alpha Biography Project A BIOGRAPHY is a nonfiction (true) story written about a person. An AUTOBIOGRAPHY is a nonfiction (true) story written about one’s self. An ALPHA BIOGRAPHY is a nonfiction (true) story written about yourself where you come up with a topic for each letter of the alphabet.
    • For this project, you will write about events that have already happened ( past ), what is happening right now ( present ), and your plans or dreams ( future ).
    • You must come up with a topic for each letter of the alphabet. For example, if I am writing an AlphaBio for the letter “B”, I will use the topic “BEACH” and tell about our vacation to the beach this last summer. PAST TENSE
    • AlphaBio Tasks
      • Task 1 – ABC Topics
      • Task 2 – Write
      • Task 3 – Edit
      • Task 4 – Rewrite
      • Task 5 – Peer Edit
      • Task 6 – Create PhotoStory
      • Task 7 – Publish PhotoStory
    • Task 1 – ABC Topics
      • You need to come up with a topic for each letter of the alphabet. Fill out the blue sheet Mrs. Crawford is giving you.
      • If you get stuck on a letter, do not waste time. Go ahead and go to Task 2 and then come back to the rest of your letters.
    • Task 2 – Write
      • During this task, you are to write a paragraph for each of your topics.
      • You should have 26 paragraphs.
      • Keep them in alphabetic order and allow one page for each letter so that you can edit and rewrite.
    • Task 3 – Edit
      • Edit each paragraph with an orange, red, purple, blue or green colored pencil.
      • When you edit, make sure your verbs are in the right tense.
        • past: already happened
        • present: is happening
        • future: will happen
    • Task 4 – Rewrite
      • Rewrite your paragraphs to a final clean copy.
    • Task 5 – Peer Edit
      • Have a friend read your paragraph to give any suggestions they may have. They will be able to tell you if you have anything that is unclear to the reader.
    • Task 6 – Create Digital Story
      • Open PhotoStory 3 and start creating your digital story. I have placed “ABC” picture pages into your “students/bulldog 5” file folder.
      • You can also bring in photos from home that we can put into your digital story. You will need to record your voice reading your paragraph for each picture.
    • Task 7 – Publish Digital Story
      • Finish creating your PhotoStory and save it in your “student/bulldog 5” folder. The name of your digital story should be ABC <your name>.
