Life Cycle of a Chicken By Wen Di and Lin Xuan of Pri 3.9
Life Cycle of a Chicken

The life cycle of a chicken starts as an egg. It takes about 3 weeks to become a chick. It takes about 3 months to become an adult chicken.

Stages in its Life Cycle

The chicken egg has a hard shell. When the chick hatches, it will be tired and wet. After a few hours, its feathers will become dry and fluffy. When it becomes an adult chicken, it will lay eggs and the life cycle repeats itself.

Hatching Eggs

Eggs must incubate for 21 days. Eggs are rotated for the first 18 days, and lay still for the last 3 days. A hole in the shell will be the first sign of hatching. The process may take a day.
