Life Cycle of a Chicken <ul><li>In nature, a female chicken mates with a male chicken and the female chicken lays eggs. The male chicken fertilises the eggs. The female chicken sits on the egg to keep it warm. Then when the egg hatches and there comes out a baby chick. </li></ul>
Stages in its Life Cycle <ul><li>The stages of the chicken’s life cycle is the egg, chick and the adult. </li></ul>
Hatching Eggs When the chick is ready to hatch, it will crack open its egg shell.

Inside a Chicken Egg Day 1 Day 6 Day 13 The egg is fertilized. The zygote cell divides and begins to grow. The cell segregate into groups, of specialized function. The embryo nearly stops growing between laying and incubation.[keeping the egg warm] The egg develops further . Inside the egg the young bird slowly develops its beak and wings.
From Egg to Chick Day 17 Day 21 The beak turns towards the cell. The neck begins to spasm. The egg tooth pips through the shell. Exhausted wet and alive, the chick is hatched.
