  • 2. Life Cycle of a Chicken
    • The stages of a chicken’s life cycle is…
    • An egg- It is laid by a hen. Some eggs have an embryo inside them. It will take 21 days for the chick to hatch.
    • A chick- The chick is wet when it hatches from the egg.
    • Its feathers are called “down”. They like to eat seeds, bugs and worms.
    • A chicken- After six months, a chick becomes a chicken. The hen will then lay more eggs.

  • 6. Inside a Chicken Egg Day 1 Day 6 Day 13 What is happening? -Egg is fertilized. -The zygote divides and begins to grow. What is happening? -The beak and ribs begin to appear. -The wing bends at the elbow. What is happening? -The left and right collar bones fuse to form the wishbone.
  • 7. From Egg to Chick Day 17 Day 21 What is happening? -The beak turns towards the air cell. -Exhausted, wet, alive-the chick has hatched!
