Willkommen!  Mrs Hampson (MFL 10th visit to the teacher and trip leader)  Miss Dolan (HOY 7, Alsace region of Science teacher, deputy France and Baden- leader, medical, Wurtemburg in experience) Germany.  Mr Bark (HOD MFL, experience)  Mr Acheson (HOY 8, MFL teacher)  Mr Pierce Williams (HOY 10, music teacher)
  • 3. First things first! Ticked name to show here? Later, please check the emergency numbers given to us (sheets at back) Check child’s mobile number EHICs and medical/ safety forms still to come in
  • 4. Booklets 1 for parents (given out on entrance tonight) 1 for pupils (given out nearer the time)
  • 5. 2 key things 1. Aims of the trip: to enjoy being in France & Germany practise French & German HAVE A FUN TIME! 2. BUT must follow rules to the letter to ensure safety.
  • 6. Itinerary & food Sat 2nd June Meet 9.45pm prompt Food needed for journey/ ferry Picnic lunch provided by us on Sun Pupils use language skills to buy own lunch on Mon in Strasbourg. Picnic lunch provided on Tues Meal at theme park on Wed Thurs – lunch provided on way back. Tea will be needed to be bought on the ferry (fed up of our sandwiches by then) Thurs 7th June 23.59 – poss arrival time. Telephone tree – 5 volunteers needed. Ripon?
  • 7. Luggage & clothes Small bag for coach inc food for journey Pillow & travel sickness tablets? Suncream & sunhat, travel plugs, swimming trunks for the boys. Sensible, appropriate clothes. Footwear. Waterproof
  • 8. Valuables Responsible for own possessions Do not leave money or expensive possessions unguarded or in the youth hostel.
  • 9. Accommodation: Ciarus International youth hostel Use every year Nice facilities Rooms of 3,4,6 (t.b.c) with an en-suite H & S video, 24 hr manned reception, CCTV, night porters patrolling No reasons to leave room Expected to behave on balconies www.ciarus.com
  • 10. Medical Handed medical form back Travel sickness? Medicines to Miss Dolan (labelled) Keep us up to date before we go! Few individuals to see Miss Dolan at the end of this meeting
  • 11. Money Mr Acheson/ Mr Bark! Generally all entrance fees & meals abroad paid for. Ferry money/ motorway services Hostel safe
  • 12. Food Be adventurous! Evening meal in centre (veggie option) Picnic lunch No chewing gum on coach Water bottle?
