Typical Day Typical Schedule Crane Flat – check the board daily for updates キ 7:00 a.m. Wake Up キ 7:30 a.m. Breakfast キ 8:30 a.m. Gather in Hiking Groups キ Return to Camp (between 3:00-4:30) キ Rest/Play/Journal Time キ Dinner (Depends – Between 5:00-6;00) キ 7:00 p.m. Evening Program キ Journal/bathroom time キ 10: 00 p.m. Lights Out Typical Schedule (check board) Valley– キ 6:30 a.m. Wake Up キ 7:00-7:30 a.m. Breakfast – Dining Pavilion キ 8:30 Gather in Hiking Groups near Basketball court in Boys Town キ Return to Camp (between 3:00-4:30) キ Rest/Play/Shop/Journal Time キ Dinner (Start time depends on your rotation (between 5:00 & 6:00)) キ 6:45-7:45 p.m. Leave for Evening Program (Varies by Rotation) キ 8:30- Finish journal, get ready for bed. キ 9:30 p.m. In Cabins for the night キ 10:00 p.m. Lights Out – Quiet Time
  • 3. Common Questions <ul><li>When will we have time to shower? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>In the valley, you can shower before breakfast, or during your afternoon break. Typically you do not have time in the evening. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>At Crane Flat, there are posted student bathroom times and typically morning showers are not feasible. </li></ul></ul>
  • 4. More Common Questions <ul><li>Will we spend the day with our cabin group? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>You are with your hiking group during the day and during the evening program. You are not in a hiking group with people from your cabin. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You are with your cabin group on the bus, for breakfast and for dinner. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>During free time you can spend time with others so long as you are not in their cabin. Typically students spend time outside on the porch, at the picnic tables or at the store with anyone they choose. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>No matter where you go, you NEVER go by yourself. </li></ul></ul>

More Common Questions <ul><li>What types of activities will we do during the day? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>You leave at 8:30 with your hiking group and return around 3-4. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>During that time you enjoy: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Hikes and studies of the environment around you. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Outdoor science experiments </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Games and group challenges. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>A challenging hike where you might climb between 1000 and 2000 feet off the valley floor </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Cross-country skiing </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Time to write in your journal and reflect on your experience. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Visits to historical locations in the park. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Stewardship projects. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Group lunch on the trail. </li></ul></ul></ul>

More Common Questions <ul><li>Do we get to eat with our cabin group? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Eating times for Breakfast and Dinner are assigned by Rotation (There are about 13 cabins in a Rotation). </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You meet at a central meeting area with an adult to walk to the dinning hall. You may eat with anyone in your rotation. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You need to have your table checked by an adult in your rotation before moving to the waiting area at the front of the Dining Pavillion. You walk back to camp with an adult from your Rotation. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>PLEASE buy a basic watch for the trip to keep yourself on schedule. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>PLEASE drop by the white board in BoysTown to get the latest times for your Rotation. </li></ul></ul>

More Common Questions <ul><li>Is the schedule the same at Crane Flat? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The schedule is close to the same. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>One addition is some additional housekeeping that is done at Crane Flat in the morning before you leave. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Also you don’t have to walk to dinner or your evening program. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Does everyone go to Crane Flat? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Crane Flat can only support three groups or Rotations during a week. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>If you don’t go to Crane Flat, you spend one day at Badger Pass and you have one Free Night at the Historic Lounge to “chill” with friends. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You stay in the same cabin for the entire week. </li></ul></ul>
