How the World Cup Helps Out Presentation By: Ognjen Sirovica SLC: CommTech
Why I chose my topic… I enjoy watching the world cup. I enjoy helping people out. When the world cup was going on this year I wanted to find out if they helped out South Africa and other countries.
My Thesis Statement … Is that the World Cup helps out the host country in many ways… Economy Jobs Tourism
Helping South Africa To make tourism travel better when they came to visit South Africa for the Cup new roads where made and transportation links. Thanks to this the people who live in South Africa are able to have better roads and transportation to go to work, school, or shopping.
How Tourism Helped Many people came from many different countries to support their own teams which helped the airlines. Many tourist helped out local places by giving them costumers that they usually wouldn’t have. Thanks to the tourism traffic from the World Cup South Africa has been rebranded as a tourist destination.
Jobs the World Cup made The World Cup has helped make jobs and give people of South Africa experience in new fields. People where given jobs to work at the stadiums but also construction jobs to make the stadiums and a lot more jobs. There where even people from other countries volunteering to help and work for the world cup.
South Africa’s Economy Thanks to the World Cup giving more people employment, its has raised the taxpayer base which can be used on social needs. South Africa is a country of 49 million people with only 5 million taxpayers, so this increase will be very good for it’s economy.
World Cup Kick Off Charity The Kick Off charity was very big, there were many big artist performing like Usher, Shakira, and many more popular artist. Lucas Radebe a former South African footballer had said that the World Cup and the concert has brought the people of South Africa together because music and sports are the lifeblood of African Culture.
Conclusion The World Cup has helped out South Africa in many different ways. The World Cup has raised South Africa’s tourism, helped the economy, and helped people get jobs. Even the charity concert the kicked off the World Cup has helped out all kinds of charity.
