  3. 3. Seizures are abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
  4. 4. Seizures are side affects of the brain disorder and effects the life of the individual. </li></li></ul><li>The oldest known brain disorder <br />Dr. John Hughlings Jackson discovered epilepsy in biblical times<br />He was the first to discover the structural problems in the brain that would trigger off seizures<br />If Dr. Jackson wouldn’t have discovered seizures people would be stereotyped as controlled by demons<br />

What exactly does it effect?<br />Epilepsy affects more than 18 million people in the United States.<br />Dr. Jackson discovered that the abnormal electrical taking place in the frontal lobe moved through the body<br />Epilepsy may disturb behavior or attention fits.<br />Some cases may cause scoliosis because of the brain and back.<br />
  6. 6. Why this topic?<br />I have experienced seeing my parents with epilepsy have problems<br />Some people get down graded or short handed because of their disorder.<br />Many people judge before they get to know the disorder <br />
  7. 7. Just take the medicine<br />In many cases seizures are controlled by the medicine the doctor will prescribe.<br />Many doctors prescribe different medicines for different parts of the brain<br />Different parts of the medicine will control the electric shocks in the brain<br />
  8. 8. My connections<br />Both of my parents have epilepsy<br />My mom past from a seizure that went wrong<br />My dad still lives with seizures and still takes his medicine<br />And still lives heathly<br />
  9. 9. How do they get judged?<br />People with epilepsy can not drive<br />They are also limited to jobs <br />People are scared to get near because they think they will have a seizure<br />
  10. 10. Conclusion <br />People with epilepsy shouldn’t be judged<br />We are all people and we should get treated the same <br />Love is for everyone<br />
