  • 1. Evolution vs. Creationism
Is it fair that only one interpretation is taught?
    A presentation by: Sheena Clegg
    SLC: Health and Medical
  • 2. The Importance
    • This topic is of importance to me because I’ve always pondered on why only one interpretation is shown to society.
    • 3. I’m a strong believer in equality.
    • 4. People should be able to decide on they’re own what they want to believe in, and only depicting the theory of evolution to them just gives them enough knowledge to believe that one view.
  • EVOLUTION
    • Evolution is the belief that the human race evolved from apes.
    • 5. It is Darwin’s theory and is also known as Darwinism.
    • 6. Evolution is taught in the public school system.
  • The Christian view
    • This is the belief that there is an almighty God who created man.
    • 7. Over 80% of the U.S believes in Creationism.
    • 8. However, this view is not taught in the public school system.
  • The Muslim view
    • The Muslim society believes that “ Allah” created mankind.
    • 9. Much of our society is Muslim.
    • 10. Muslims believe they have evidence as well to believe what they believe.
  • The Hindu view
    • The Hindu’s believe in three Gods.
    • 11. One is believed to be the Creator. (Lord Brahma)
    • 12. Lord Vishnu is said to be the preserver of the Universe.
    • 13. Lord Shiva is said to be the God of destruction.
  • The Buddhist view
    • The Buddhist view doesn’t have a story to back it up.
    • 14. This view agrees with the theory of Evolution.
    • 15. As long as they see proof in evolution, they will continue to believe it.
  • All or None!
    • It’s not fair to the rest of the views if only one is taught.
    • 16. Young teens should be able to see both sides of the coin (Evolution and Creationism)
    • 17. This will enable people to make their own choices to what they choose to believe in rather than having beliefs poured on to them.

  • We should exposed to all
    • Every view believe they have proof to believe what they believe.
    • 22. None can prove the other wrong.
    • 23. Young teens should be able to make their choice of what they choose to believe rather than to only know of one interpretations and believe it because they know none other.
