    Independence- don’t have to rely on others to do your job Empowerment- the more you know the more you can control in you day/job/ can’t be fooled by techs Recycling- any audio objects (tests, quizzes, activities, narratives, role plays) can be tagged, stored and reused in the future Refinement-audio can be manipulated , combined or re-editied for alternative purposes

    Open Audacity, dpending on sound card, just try recording using the record button and speak into the mic(test) Rewind, play, listen, too loud? Too soft? On the Mixer Toolbar, slide the Input, Output – does it help? If not we can alter it later. Depending on the sound card the input selector may offer alternative inputs PreFab Audio- File, Open and it will display the audio in a track, then record as above notice a new track appears (multitracking) Internet- http://eslpod.com/website/index.php or http://www.esl-lab.com/ Either download the file and play locally (recommended) or record as media plays through the internet CD- insert cd, cue on player, then press record on Audacity then play on player

    Open the file Dr Evil with Audacity, play Note: the audio track items to the left, mono, stereo, HZ 8000 telephone---44000CD Audio Use the selection tool to select a portion of the audio, press play, ECHO, reverse, USE preview or UNDO Fade in/out Normalize- should be done to all tracks before editing, it reduces extreme SPIKES Amplify Noise removal, select dead air, push GET NOISE PROFILE, select area to be cleaned, PRESS PREVIEW, REMOVE NOISE

    File export as WAV for cds Export as mp3s for cds or
