    • Last semester I offered 25 Blended Learning assignments to my students.
    • Students had choice and control over assignments , which ranged from 10-50 points.
    • Enthusiasm and online work completion increased and at the end of the semester, my course failure rate had been cut in half to 13%, the lowest it has ever been in my career as an LAUSD teacher.

    • Key Ingredients in a Flipped Classroom 1. The students learn by doing in class: memorizing, drilling with questions or flashcards, solving problems, conducting research and writing papers. 2. The teacher’s principal activity in class is to help individual students, one at a time, mostly when asked by the student. 3. Each student progresses from one lesson to the next only after demonstrating competence of the current lesson.
