  1. 1. Sales and Marketing InternshipThis intern position will be located in the Non Profit Division of The Rollins Agency, Inc. Rye Brook,NY. It is for a full semester starting in January 2011.Summary: The purpose is to assist the CEO in his sales, marketing and branding to non profit organizations in the tri state area. The goal is to help build the pipeline of potential non profit prospects. Many new clients come in from networking and referrals. But supplemental research on these organizations and others is needed.Student Requirements: Second semester senior or grad student. GPA 3.0 Major: Management, Risk Management and/or Marketing. Outside activities – Must have at least one: Intramural sports or varsity athletics, fraternity or sorority, professional club, service organization. Passion for non profit work and understanding how they operate is a must. Prefer candidates with some corporate communication skills and/or previous work/intern experience. Flexibility and attention to detail required. Strong understanding of major social media platforms necessary.Job Details: 15-20 hours per week. Some of the work should be able to be done virtually, but weekly office hours are required as well. Schedule is flexible. Office environment is business casual. Opportunity for a full time position is possible at end of internship.Supervision: Will work closely with and report to the CEO, Markham Rollins.Anticipated Assignments: Support social media initiatives. Blog www.nonprofitguard.com, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc, through research assignments and regular posting of pertinent topics. Research non profit organizations using web, Guidestar and other resources. Attend networking events with CEO. Attend local conferences with CEO. Attend sales calls with CEO.Industry Familiarization: Role of insurance as a risk transfer tool. Role of an insurance agent as a viable distribution system. Basic understanding of “Risk Management”.
