Primary Stages of Litigation <ul><ul><li>Draft a Complaint </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Formal document given to the courthouse stating the issue </li></ul><ul><li>Discovery </li></ul><ul><li>Both sides exchange information regarding the issue </li></ul><ul><li>Formal documents, recorded testimony, witnesses, etc. </li></ul>

Primary Stages of Litigation <ul><li>Mediation </li></ul><ul><li>Mediator works with both parties, lawyers, and other representatives to create an agreed settlement </li></ul><ul><li>Trial </li></ul><ul><li>If case does not settle during mediation, the two parties proceed to court </li></ul>
