5. 6. Kenneth K. Law was born in Manhattan, NY, received schooling in Deer Park (Long Island) at St. Cyrils and St. Methodius Catholic School where he served as an Altar Boy and aspired to be a Priest up until he found out Priests could not be married. He and his family later settled in Savannah, GA where he continued his years of being reared. He is a high school graduate of Sol C. Johnson High School Savannah, Georgia. He received his formal education from Jackson State University majoring in Mass Communications & Marketing. His professional career consisted of Retail Management, being the Director of the Teen Center for the Boys & Girls Club as well as an Entrepreneur. Kenneth K. Law has over 18+ years working with youth and families. His career began working with elementary school level youth as a Para Professional in Savannah; where he worked with children with special needs. In addition, he served as a Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church also located in Savannah. Armed with a passion to continue working with kids he reached out and became a Mentor for the Big Brothers / Big Sisters organization. In 1995, Kenneth K. Law relocated to Atlanta, GA and soon became a part of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the teaching of Bishop Eddie L. Long. Soon he began participating in the various ministries that the church offered. He attached himself to the Rites of Passage Program as a Fitness Instructor. He became known by many for his compassion, patience and personal quest for children to walk in their ordained destiny. His love for children was very evident to all those that he met. He was very active as a Mentor to many children with the DeKalb County School System and worked to mentor kids at Marbut Theme School and the DeKalb Medical Health Adventures Program for at-risk youth. He later became a Certified Fitness Trainer with a unique love for those kids that were labeled overweight and a misfit to society. Under the tutelage of the ministry at New Birth, he heard Bishop Long preach a sermon on Destiny and Purpose (Jeremiah 1:5). This message resonated in his heart and his mind. With that said he launched out and started a fitness program for overweight kids who needed help in the areas of weight management, self-esteem and simply understanding who they were in Christ. It began as a Summer Camp Program that was geared towards fitness. Starting with only 6 kids and the faith of a mustard seed, he began to work faithfully with those 6 kids for the entire summer from sun up to sun down. Transformations were made in their weight, in their self-esteem and their confidence began to blossom! Because of his faithfulness with the 6 kids, the next summer camp program had well over 80 kids and later drew as many as 250 kids. Kenneth K. Law (Pastor) has successfully created a ministry entitled TEAM Kingdom Ministries that he and his wife (LaWanda) founded in 2004. They travel throughout the Southeast teaching and ministering The Gospel to youth and families. To date, Kenneth has personally touched and left a positive impact on the lives of well over three thousand youth. In August of 2005, Bishop Eddie L. Long licensed him as a Minister at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA. Continuing to touch the lives of many and heeding the voice of God, Kenneth accepted the call and has been ordained by Bishop Eddie L. Long as Senior Pastor of New Birth Savannah. Pastor Law and his wife, Elder LaWanda R. Law, celebrate 9 years of marriage. Although they do not have biological children as of yet, they proudly claim the three thousand children that God has allowed them to be surrogate parents to as their own. They are clearly establishing a living legacy of hope and a special anointing to turn the hearts of many towards the heart and the voice of The Lord in their everyday lives. With the leading of The Holy Spirit, they both walk in a posture of servant hood and with an understanding of “to whom much is given, much is required.” PASTOR KENNETH LAW

Law and First Lady of New Birth Savannah. Mrs. Law was joined to marriage in 1998 to Pastor Law. She has been a Minister of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Bishop Eddie L. Long as well as a faithful member. She met her husband at New Birth and they were later joined in marriage in August of 1998.

Mrs. Law graduated from South Carolina State University with a Master of Arts Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. Because of her ambition to succeed, she completed both degrees within a 4 year time period. She has worked in the Private and Non-Profit Sector of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Child Protective Services as well being a DeKalb County Juvenile Probation Officer.

Mrs. Law made a shift in her career towards Human Resources, in which she has worked in that industry for the last 12 years. She has been a Human Resources Consultant for some of the most recognizable names in corporate America, such as the Coca-Cola Company, Emory, American Red Cross, Verizon Wireless and now works as the Director of Human Resources for Hospice Savannah.

As a wife, she understands her role in this great vision that God has called her to as a helpmate to her husband. Mrs. Law attributes her lady like qualities to being reared by a loving mother who has supported her faithfully and emphasized a posture of serving and being a Lady in all things.

She’s always been active in the church even as a youth. She was the Sunday School Secretary, ushered and sung in the choir. She was always a leader in her early years. While at New Birth under Bishop Long, she served faithfully as an Usher for 7 years, active in the Employment Ministry and Women’s Ministry, worked as the Assistant Director of Summer Camp for 3 years with her husband and birthed a women’s discipleship ministry called Calling All First Ladies in 2002 where God used her to disciple over 70 women in their walk with The Lord. Mrs. Law also facilitated a Bible Study for Teens and coordinated Youth / Family Conferences as a helpmate to her husband’s vision to see teens walk in their ordained destiny.

While obligations to ministerial commitments are a priority, Mrs. Law puts it all into perspective in knowing her first ministry is to her husband. She faithfully and willingly serves as a helpmate to her husband.

Today she walks as a humbled servant for the building of God’s Kingdom, a spiritual mother to well-over 3000 youth and always a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Pastor Kenneth K. Law. Anyone that knows her will catch her infectious smile and ability to love God’s people into their ordained purpose and destiny.

She delights in this Scripture reading in Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you, say the Lord, plans of good and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

First Lady LaWanda Law
