What is a sentence?
Try and come up with a definition of a sentence. Use
these questions to help you:
• What must a sentence have?
• What stops a group of words being a sentence?
• How do you know when a sentence is complete?

I could see beautiful, crystal clear
water, stretching off into distance. In
front of me, I could see beautiful
green trees which leaned gently over
the edge of the beach. I smelt the
fresh water. I could feel soft sand
under feet. As I walked slowly up the
beach, I could hear the relaxing noise
of the waves as they tumbled onto
the shore.
