Accomplishments as Governor• Turned his state around from having a budget deficit to a budget surplus by the end of his term• Increased fees on many things such as gun and marriage licenses• Cut state spending considerably• Mandated every Massachusetts citizen to have health insurance- “RomneyCare”• Has gone back on forth on gay marriage and abortion

Passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009• This was a $787 billion economic stimulus package aimed at helping the economy recover from the deepening worldwide recession• The act includes increased federal spending for health care, infrastructure, education, various tax breaks and direct assistance to people
