Theatre Booking System Lesson 3: Inserting random numbers to test your model

We are going to enter a formula called =Randbetween(bottom,top) This allows the computer to generate random numbers between the two numbers we specify. Why are you going to use the numbers 0 and 4?

If your randbetween() function does not seem to be working, you will first need to go to Tools -> Add-Ins

You will then need to put a tick next to: Analysis ToolPak – VBA If you press OK it should now work!

Copy the =randbetween() function to all of your ‘seats’. If you put your mouse over the bottom right-hand corner of a cell you can drag it to copy the formula.

Once you have dragged and copied the formula downwards you should see random numbers generated. You can then highlight them and drag them across to copy them sideways!
