  4. 4. Hamlet has a group of players perform aplay which is similar in action to the way theghost told him about how his uncle havemurdered his father. If Claudius is guilty, he willreact in a way that reveals his guilt. When themoment of the murder arrives, Claudiushurriedly leaves the room. Hamlet and Horatioagree that this proves his guilt. Hamlet goes tokill Claudius but finds him praying. Since hebelieves that killing Claudius while in prayerwould send his soul to heaven, Hamlet decidesto wait. Claudius becomes afraid of Hamlet andorders that he be sent to England at once.

  6. 6. Hamlet confronts his mother, in whosebedchamber Polonius has hidden behind acurtain. Hearing a noise from behind thecurtain, Hamlet thinks it is the king who ishiding there. He stabs through the curtain,killing Polonius.
