This deck is an overview, and not a definitive explanation, as different States, Cities & districts will be implementing different teacher evaluation frameworks, and the ones implementing Danielson may be doing so in different ways than in New York City.

  • 7. 2013 Edition In addition to tighter language to assist evaluators in making clear distinctions between performance levels, the 2013 Edition now includes specific language around the instructional implications of the Common Core State Standards. The Framework for Teaching has always been grounded in student learning and included the big concepts of the Common Core. New York City Conflict United Federation of Teachers wanted the Framework to be used primarily to help teachers improve UFT felt Department of Education was using the Framework strictly for evaluations Originally the UFT & DOE were in sync on the Framework, even offering professional development sessions for both teachers & administrators NYS Ed.
