About I am currently an associate professor at one of South Korea’s top-ranked schools of communication (Hallym University). Before coming to South Korea, I worked and studied for six years in Japan, where I received my PhD from one of Japan’s most prestigious universities (Tohoku University).
To date, the majority of my research has focused on the representation of gender, race/ethnicity, and age in television advertisements. I have designed, managed, and completed collaborative large-scale research projects in China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and the United States. My research has been published in international journals (including several SSCI journals) as well as in books.
