    • The Sun is a great gift from Allah. It gives us light and electricity. How does it give us electricity? With the advanced technology that we have today, we are able to transform light into electricity with solar cells.
  • 2.
    • Solar cells (or photovoltaic cells) are devices made of semiconductors that produce electricity by turning the direct rays of the sun into working electric energy . The first solar cell was produced by Daryl Chapin in Bell Laboratories in 1954.
  • 3.
    • Here are four most popular ways:
    • 1. Using solar power for small portable devices like mobiles and the such.
    • 2. Using solar power for heating water that you use in pools and tubs.
    • 3. Using solar power to heat water that we use for drinking and washing.
    • 4. Using solar power to simply power up your house with electricity .
  • 4.
    • Manufacturing solar cells is much like producing computers and memory chips because they have the same semiconducting materials . Factories today make screen printed poly- crystalline silicon solar cells.
  • 5.
    • A solar cell can stay for at least 25 years without a significant decrease of efficiency! The typical warranty that the manufacturers give is 25-30 years!
  • 6.
    • Materials of an efficient solar cell needs matching characteristics (features) to the spectrum of available light. But some cells just convert wavelengths to the earth.
  • 7.
    • 1. Photons in the sunlight hit the cells and then are absorbed by semi conducting materials such as silicon.
    • 2.then electrons (negatively charged) get loose. Allowing them to flow through the material and produce electricity.
    • 3. An array of solar cells converts sunlight into a usable amount of direct current (DC).
  • 8.
    • Solar cells cost 1$ per watt . However, with advanced technology , the price has been lowered.
  • 9.
    • if we use solar cells, we will not be in trouble if oil depletes . We also protect nature by powering our cars and factories with solar power.
  • 10.
    • Solar cells are very expensive nowadays. But, it would be a great idea to install it In your houses.
