  • 3. <ul><li>Nose structure- Bones, cartilage and fibro fatty tissues. </li></ul><ul><li>Nose function- Is to filter the air before passing it further into the respiratory system. </li></ul>Nose
  • 4. Trachea <ul><li>Trachea structure- Rings of cartilage. </li></ul><ul><li>Trachea function- Connect the pharynx of the larynx to the lungs and allows passage of air to the lungs. </li></ul>Trachea Trachea

  • 6. Bronchi <ul><li>Bronchi structure- Cartilage. </li></ul><ul><li>Bronchi function- The bronchi is where the air enters the lungs then is sent to each lung. </li></ul><ul><li>Right lung structure-Three lobes. </li></ul><ul><li>Left lung structure- Two lobes </li></ul>

The respiratory system and the integumentary system <ul><li>The respiratory system gives oxygen to the blood stream of the integumentary system. </li></ul><ul><li>The integumentary system includes skin, nails and sweat glands. </li></ul><ul><li>The oxygen from the respiratory system allows parts of the integumentary system to grow properly. </li></ul>

Facts about the respiratory system <ul><li>The respiratory system inhales oxygen and exhales carbon dioxide. </li></ul><ul><li>When you take a deep breath, air enters your lungs and your chest expands. </li></ul><ul><li>Your lungs shift oxygen though the air and diffuses it into your blood. </li></ul><ul><li>We breath about 9-20 times a minute. </li></ul><ul><li>We exhale about a half a litter of water vapour in a whole day. </li></ul>
  • 12. Facts about the respiratory system <ul><li>Every minute we breath we take in about 13 pints of air. </li></ul><ul><li>When the diaphram expands, lungs are emptied of air when we exhale. </li></ul>
