Objectives<br />Provide you with an in-depth insight into Cloud Computing<br />Encourage and provide direction in learning a cutting edge technology where you can show your creativity, and show some interesting things on your resume<br />It is always good to know a little more than the interviewer <br />Perhaps this will help a few of you to build your own products<br />Remember, Bill Gates was 20 when he founded Microsoft <br />

What is Windows Azure?<br />Internet scale cloud computing platform hosted in Microsoft data centers<br />Cloud computing is considered by some to be the future of computing as we know it<br />It can host applications developed using Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET framework<br />Azure provides an open, standards based environment with support for Internet protocols including http, SOAP, REST and XML<br />Other cloud apps are available for integration on Azure like Windows Live, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and MS Dynamics<br />

Why Azure for you? <br />Azure is in the process of being launched, so it has all the excitement and the bleeding edge of a brand new enterprise product<br />It is a good environment to get familiar with cloud computing with a decent amount of detail<br />Microsoft is helping by providing<br />free software and resources<br />You will also get Azure “tokens”; which allows you to host your application on the Azure platform in the Microsoft Data Centers for a limited time for free<br />consultancy on conducting the program<br />An exciting application development contest<br />Possible certificate of participation (?)<br />

How will it work?<br />We will run the program for six weeks<br />Gurus - Subject matter experts and people who have experience on the Microsoft platforms will conduct lectures and working sessions for you<br />We will help you get started with software, installation and technical help<br />What should you do?<br />Be very motivated to take this up, and have the discipline necessary to cooperate with the gurus and complete this successfully<br />Preferably have a laptop so that it is easier for you to follow the lab sessions<br />Help each other to learn and create<br />Discussion Forum will be set up with the help of the Pune Users Group, for you to connect with the gurus<br />
