  • 1. Psycho-thriller; Representations- Part 2Representations in the Psychological Thriller-Representations of Crime•PSYCHO- Criminals are seen to be punished for their crimes- Norman Bates beingarrested at the end. Killing people is seen as bad- this was due to the restrictions set bythe Hays Code (1934).•Even though there is a focus on the criminal (Marion Crane) she is still punished forstealing the money by being killed.• SEVEN- Focus more on the law enforcers- but juxtaposes the law enforcer andbreaker- the similarities between John Doe and Lieutenant Somerset are highlighted.•The criminal wins in the end of the film- the people who get killed seem to deserve whatthey got- (the lawyer was punished for his greed).•There is no good narrative conclusion- the bad guy win out in end.•Law enforcers are seen as flawed characters.
