The story is about a girl named Reba Jo who meets a horned toad on the prairie. The toad makes a deal with her but she doesn't hold up her end of the bargain, offending the toad. When the toad asks for a simple kiss, the kiss unlocks a magical spell and transforms the ugly toad into a prince.
