Forbes is using MongoDB to turn itself into a software company. The publishing industry has been under substantial pressure for over a decade. Forbes had already been using MongoDB for mission-critical applications like content management, stats, user profiles and others. To help steer the company towards a profitable future, the company packaged its technology stack as an end-to-end publishing platform. Forbes is now selling this platform as a turnkey solution to other publishers, both as SaaS and an on-premise solution, driving new revenue. The initiative is mission-critical and strategic to Forbes' future.
