  • 1. POLYNOMIAL
  • 2. A polynomial is a finite sum of one or more terms. Examples of polynomials are:
  • 3. Term -is a number, variable or the product of a number and variable.  Examples of terms are: 5y 8 c
  • 4. -is a term that contains only a number . 8 -5 100 Constant Term
  • 5. Coefficient -is the numeric factor of your term.
  • 6. Types of Polynomials
    • Monomial
    - A polynomial with one term 5 x y 7
    • Binomial
    - A polynomial with two term 5 x - 10 x + y
  • 7.
    • Trinomial
    - A polynomial with three term 5 x + y - 1 x + y + 4
  • 8. Degree of Polynomials -is the highest degree of any of its terms. Examples: has degree 7 has degree 6
  • 9. Standard Form of a Polynomial  is a constant. where n is a non-negative integer.  is called the leading coefficient.
  • 10. Find the degree of the polynomial and indicate whether the polynomial is a monomial, binomial, trinomial, or none of these: 9x   4 1. 2. 3. 4. 6x + y - 9 7 5 5. 7r + st - 9 8 8
