  1. 1. Chabad Kitchen Renovation ProjectSummer 5773-2013www.JewishWaterloo.com/Kitchen
  2. 2. The Engine RoomHidden from view, theengine room is undoubtedlythe most important roomon a ship, for it drives theentire ship forward. Onedoes not cut corners on theengine room. The kitchen at Chabad isnot the social hall or shul, but it undoubtedly plays acentral role in doing whatwe do.
  3. 3.  The current kitchen was built in 1962, and wasdesigned with a medium sized family in mind. The current use of the kitchen provides Shabbatdinners to over 65 students a week, and that numberhas consistently grown by 30-40% every year. The cooking, work, storage and refrigeration spacescurrently available are simply inadequate, and must beupgraded to allow for continued service to thecommunity. The Need
  4. 4. Demolish the existing kitchen, along with thewall between the kitchen and the living room.Gather ideas from kitchens at other ChabadHouses on campuses across North America.In an enlarged space, design an all-new kitchenbuilt to suit the needs of the present andfuture. The Solution
