This document summarizes an experimental study on heat transfer in pulsating turbulent air flow through a heated pipe. The study investigated the effect of pulsation frequency (6.6-68 Hz) and Reynolds number (10,850-37,100) on heat transfer characteristics. Results showed that the local and mean Nusselt numbers could increase or decrease compared to steady flow values, depending on the frequency and Reynolds number. Heat transfer was more affected in the entrance region than in the fully developed region. The results were classified according to turbulent bursting and quasi-steady flow models.
