  1. 1. 12/08/2011Assmang Limited’s Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine, situated approximately 7kilometres west of Postmasburg in the Northern Cape (+/- 200km west fromKimberley), requires the services of a: SAMPLE PROCESSOR SENIORQUALIFICATIONS• Grade 12 preferably with Mathematics and Science;REQUIREMENTS• A minimum of 1 years’ sampling experience;• Sampling experience in base metal mining will serve as an advantage;• Computer literate including MS Word and Excel;• Truck mounted and Over-head crane licences will serve as an advantage;• Be in possession of a valid Code C1 and Code C Driver’s licences;• Sampling modules will be an added advantage (Certificates);• Red Licence (Mine specific requirement);KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS• Basic sampling knowledge as well as knowledge of sampling equipment;• Communication and Listening Skills;• Working knowledge of sampling policies and procedures;• Basic Risk Assessment;• Basic Mine, Health and Safety Act, relevant SOP’s and BCEA;• Ability to function very good in a team.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:• Sampling, preparation and analysis of production samples through XRF;• Obtaining results from XRF;• Conducting pre-start on vehicle, equipment and machinery and reporting defects to line manager;• Collection of samples and transportation thereof to sample tower or robotic laboratory;• Mixing sample with Boric acid, swinging the sample, making a pellet and ensuring that sample is identified correctly;• Manual preparation of sample by crushing, splitting, pulverising and pelletizing sample;• Ensuring freely flow of samples through tower without blockages;• Labelling of samples accurately for correct reference;• Maintaining housekeeping standards accordingly to required specifications;• Sizing analyses, ensuring that the product is put through correct sieves;• Ensuring accurately and timely capturing of analytical data into the relevant computer system;• Ensuring adherence to SHERQ and legal standards and procedures;• Reporting SHERQ related observations, incidents and deviations to Supervisor;• Be aware of company safety policies and procedures to ensure adherence to all regulations;• Perform any other reasonable ad hoc duties as and when requested from time to time.Appointment: Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.

Probation period: 3 MonthsThe successful incumbent will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health andSafety Act 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company’s Code of Practice – Medical Fitness towork on a Mine. He/she may also undergo a Psychometric assessment.The abovementioned position is B4 on the Patterson grading system. The successful candidate that conformsto all said requirements and experience will be appointed on this grading.
