    1. Author John Grisham & His Thriller Books John Grisham is an American author, best known for his popular legal thrillers. John Grisham is better known for his immensely successful books. The inspiration for his first novel was a testimony of a 12 year old rape victim which he witnessed at the DeSoto County courthouse in Hernando in 1984. He began writing his first novel exploring the possibilities of the girl's father murdering her assailants. The outcome was A Time To Kill which was finished on 1987 and sold to Wynwood Press, who gave it a modest 5,000-copy printing and published it in June 1988. Soon he began work on his second novel The Firm which went on to become the7th bestselling novel of 1991.
