  • 3. About the City
Robbinsdale, Minnesota is a city of about 14,500 people located next to the northwest corner of Minneapolis. The City is over 100 years old and has maintained its small town feel.  New housing options are on the horizon with a number of townhome developments under consideration.
  • 4. History
Robbinsdale was founded on April 19, 1893. Robbinsdale was the first suburb of Minneapolis and was named for Andrew Robbins, an entrepreneur who had purchased 90 acres (360,000 m2) of land for the purpose of making the area a suburban town.
In the late 19th and early 20th century, people traveled to Robbinsdale to go duck hunting on Crystal Lake.
  • 5. Economy
The majority of businesses in Robbinsdale are retail and service oriented. Most businesses are located in the area facing West Broadway and County Road 81 between 40th and 42nd Avenues North. There is also a major retail center on County Road 81 and 36th Avenue North. Businesses are also located along County Road 9 and West Broadway.
The largest employment concentration is at the North Memorial Medical Center located off West Broadway at 3300 Oakdale Avenue North. Other related medical offices are located throughout the city.
Regional business attractions include Sawhorse-home improvement, Hackenmueller's Meat Market, and Wuollet Bakery.  The Robbinsdale Chamber of Commerce has prepared a Merchant and Organization Contact Information Sheet  provided by its members.
  • 6. Real Estate
Many people who are in the market for their first home should particularly consider this area.
Many single-family homes with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms are currently listed; on the other hand, if you are in the market for something a little larger, Robbinsdale also has a series of spacious multi-story homes that are also available at extremely reasonable prices.
Because the current real estate market favors buyers so strongly, it is a smart time to think about purchasing a home.
  • 7. Education
Robbinsdale is served by Independent School District 281, commonly known as Robbinsdale School District.
There are three public schools and one private school
    located within the city borders:
    Lakeview Elementary School
    Robbinsdale Middle School
    Spanish Immersion School (K-5)
    Sacred Heart Elementary School
The Robbinsdale School District Borders assign some Robbinsdale students to elementary schools in adjacent suburbs.
  • 8. Attractions
Probably the most trademark of Robbinsdale’s public recreational offerings, their annual Whiz Bang Days brings residents together each summer.
Named after the popular World War I publication, this summer event recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. Complete with a parade, block party, countless food tents, and a terrific 10K race, the Whiz Bang days is a great chance for members of the community to interact.
