Greetings! Welcome to what I hope will serve as a further enlightenment of my professional career venture. Inside you will view pages outlining some highlights of my career through a couple of events I’ve helped to develop and create in the exhibiting atmosphere.
I’m excited to share with you some information and activities which represent the heart of my philosophy: “Making The Vision A Reality.” I hope to convey some insight into my preparation, experience, competency, and aspirations I have relative to the exciting, meaningful, and rewarding experiences I afford my clients and myself.
The Heart of My Philosophy My philosophy of event planning encompasses the premises of educational preparation, experience, competency and a positive personal demeanor and interpersonal qualities. I fervently believe the successful event planner does and must possess the tools, skills and command of the field knowledge together with tangible diverse interfacing experience. Genuine personal qualities of the planner are essential to building a relationship of trust and integrity. In addition, the event planner must be an effective listener with the intellectual ability to readily and tactfully assess each prospective client’s interest, needs, timeline and budget. I believe it is the professional responsibility of the planner to be well versed, articulate and artistic. It is also the supreme artistic ability of the planner that helps to awaken a feeling of well being and receptiveness in the client through the creative visual expressions, presentations, and knowledge of the dedicated and effective planner. The event planner must always be cognizant of the fact that no matter how much they may seem identical or alike, no two people nor events are alike; therefore, do not second guess your clients. Each client deserves that unique personal and unadulterated attention. Finally, it is my belief in reference to one’s career that there comes a definite time in the life of every individual when she or he must establish an identity to be or not to be. Planned the logistics of the three-day biennial event that unites high-level corporate leaders, heads of state, politicians, policy makers and concerned citizens through this non-profit organization. Wrote requests for proposals (RFP’s) for all services provided (including the general contractor), worked with the District of Columbia Convention Visitor’s Bureau to format the Hilton Washington, connected with a destination management company for theming ideas, and ordering necessary equipment for staff, media, and registered guests.

Exhibiting Services Coordinator
Meeting the needs of clients through expos, tradeshows, conferences, and conventions. Coordinating the space of an exhibitor’s booth and the timing (and weight) of their freight materials to make their display exquisite. Assisted the client with placing orders, including: color décor of carpet, padding, visqueen, floral arrangements, booth size, electricity, and AV/production. Also assisted with floor plans and event billing. Such shows include the National Society of Black Engineers National Convention, Chicago Business Opportunity Fair, and Dallas Black Expo Merge 2006
