Impact of Minnesota Campus Compact's College Health Corps program 2010-2011

Health & Medicine Education

Here is what our10 AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers accomplishedin 2010-2011

8,413individuals received or were referred to healthcare services

19,807individuals participated in health literacy initiatives

93% demonstrated an increase in health education

19,807 individuals participated in health literacy initiatives 39% reported positive behavior changes

68% experienced new physical or mental health improvements

3,291underserved people positively impacted by upstream health measures . . .

. . . addressing health determinants such as smoking, obesity, stress, poor nutrition, high blood pressure and alcohol & drug use

899new volunteers were engaged in over 22,000 hours of service

10 VISTAs contributed to the procurement of over $86,000 in cash resources and almost $34,000 in non-cash resources to increase the capacity of their organizations and communities
